In our folk lore there is a constant theme of
a Faqir landing in a barren and infertile garden, while the women of the city are infertile and domestic animals stop producing milk. I interpret this folk lore as an absence of creativity in society. The parasites rule in this land and therefore productivity stops. Ranjha is creative, a lover and revolts against all the oppressing system. The blossoming of the garden after the arrival of Ranjha is the seed of change. snake and peocock are the vehicles that take him to the tree of knowledge
